Celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Time & Location
Jan 17, 2022, 8:00 AM – 8:45 AM
About the event
Begin your day awakened and free with mindful movement and breathwork focused on the priniciple of moksha: freedom, liberation, transcendence. Celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., with a free practice intended to open your heart and soothe your spirit. Rooted in the yogic prinicple of ahimsa, or non-harming, use your practice to honor the spirit of nonviolence, courage, optimism and equity. Yoga is very much about breaking the bond with pain so be kind and "first do no harm" even as you move through powerful postures, like Humble & Reverse Warrior. Hatha is about life force, not brute force. Use the power of your breath-body-brain to celebrate peace, integration, union.
*This class is offered free in the spirit of service, but any amount you care to donate will be contributed to Girls Leading Our World, Inc. (GLOW), a nonprofit serving girls and young women at risk in Kansas City.
